Fourth Graders are gearing up to begin their Unit 1 Portrait Project that overlaps with their Wit & Wisdom theme, "Great Love". To develop their craft, students engaged in a Studio Sprint that allowed them to explore different techniques using tempera paint, oil pastels and chalk pastels. After drawing their portrait, they will choose which medium to use for their final artwork. Here are some examples of the techniques they practiced:
