Lafayette's 2nd-5th grade had a fantastic first week of art! The 3rd-5th graders created abstract art by experimenting with different art materials to create lines, shapes and colors that represent them. They then shared their artwork with one another to build on our classroom community.
Welcome to The Bear’s Easel, Lafayette’s official art blog! Here, we celebrate the creativity, voice, and imagination of our students through the lens of visual arts. Just like a bear explores its surroundings with curiosity and strength, our young artists explore big ideas, connect their art with other subjects, experiment with materials, and express who they are through art. Follow along to see works-in-progress, finished masterpieces, students in action, and collaborative projects.

Second graders spent the fist week designing a flower that shows something about their personality to be added to a class mural of flowers that are "growing together" in a vase. :)
